awww... I love it! When i was in high school, and very into country, I always said my first song (with a certain douche I thought I'd marry at the time, Oh, to be young and stupid!) would be "We Danced" By Brad Paisley. :D.. aww... I still love the song, but it didn't even pop into my head when thinking of first dances. Probably because of all the bad memories said douche invokes! lol. We're going to do "Chasing Cars" :D

I'm unsure-going through various songs, but I've always wanted to dance to "I Cross My Heart" by George Strait since I was little, and FI & I danced to that song right before we proposed, so I keep coming back to it for our first dance.
We were going to use "Only You Can Love Me This Way" by Keith Urban. But the DJ didn't get my list of "special music"... so he didn't have it....
So we went with "I Can Love You" by Gary Allan. Truthfully, I didn't even listen to the words or remember the song, I was so caught up in being able to talk to my husband(!) for the first time that day without everyone being able to hear us :)
Ooh, please keep this post going. I am also looking for a good country song to dance to. I will think tonight and add a few to the list.

Our first dance song is "Mary's Song (oh my my my)" by Taylor Swift. It's perfect for my fiance and I because it's about two kids who grow up and fall in love.
I absolutely LOVE this song. Plus I'm a HUGE Keith Urban fan. When I bought this album and heard this song I cried. It still makes me cry when I hear it.
My fiance and I had already decided on our first dance song which will be
"Like Red on a Rose" by Alan Jackson. It's very us.
but my fiance did say when he heard this song that he wanted this played at the wedding so we can dance to it :) That melted my heart because he's not really a mushy type...and he's not a big fan of Keith.

I had chemo and lost a lot of hair and my FI stuck by my side so it really means a lot.
Not often you can find a love song about loosing hair!

Brad Paisley's "Then" is a great song.
I think we're using "To Make You Feel My Love" but the Adele version (not country). It's a Dylan song though there's tons of versions out there.

I've also seen a lot of Country songs used for the father/daughter dance. There's one called "I Loved Her First". I love Chuck Wicks "Stealing Cinderella" but I dunno if that really fits for either groom or a father dance. A friend did Willie Nelson's "Always On My Mind" with her Dad & I had mascara all over my face.
i loveeee country music...im southern all the way & that's what i've grown up with :) We've talked about several songs but still havent picked a definite first dance song. Hope this helps! :)

I am a country fan but the FI isn't but he agreed to "Then" by Brad Paisley. I love that song. I really think its great for a first dance because it talks about the past, present, and future love that you share.

Not doing a dance but will probably do a country song as our recessional. Probably Keith Urban's - Only you can love me this way

So, let me preface this by saying I am not a country fan. At all.
But, my Matron of Honor just sent me this song that they're thinking of using for their first dance (I'm her MOH, she'll be a matron by the time I'm married). It's so sweet, and even though I was prepared to barf over country, I had tears running down my face and chillbumps from the song.
