Oh my goodness! That looks absolutely mouthwateringly terrific. Congratulations!!!
Thanks so much guys! I am THRILLED. I also forgot to mention: in her stash, she ALSO happens to have dinosaur bone beads and a scarab from Egypt. Yup, that's going in there too! :)
At first the title of this post made me
.
Then the pictures made me
.
Awesome!!
Oh, I forgot to ask- @NDBee: What are you using for the base of your bouquet? Silk hydrangeas or just a styrofoam ball? We were trying to figure out what looks best as the base...
Oh. my. god.
How did I not know these existed? I am SO making myself a brooch bouquet!!!!!! Gahhhhhh.
And omg, those supplies = fantastic. Your bouquet is going to be amazing!
@rubyroad10: Wow!!! I can't wait to see how it turns out!
So beautiful! And you're so lucky! I can't wait to see how it turns out!
That is seriously awesome! Those earrings will be beyond beautiful.... I am sooo envious. I also had the luck of finding a store that had a bin FULL of medium sized gold and pearl brooches... all of which we .50 to 1.50$. It gave me the chance to splurge on a few super awesome and unique larger brooches. I made my bouquet with 4 bunches of hydrangeas that were in the clearance bin because they were a weird fall green color... I love having the little peeks of colour through out the bouquet.
@rubyroad10: I'm using silk hydrangeas in deep purple. It will tie in the BM bouquet colors and make my silvers stand out more than white flowers would. I individually wired each brooch and then wrapped each 'stem' with green floral tape.
Seriously, you weren't kidding. That's a gold mine. Lucky you!
That is awesome!!! I cannot wait to see how everything comes together!
This is all so amazingly awesome! And unique! And beautiful!
Can't wait to see everything!
Wow - those are some awesome brooches! Can't wait to see it once it's finished!
Holy crap that is awesome!! I can't wait to see it all put together!
And the "boutonniere" is freaking amazing!
@rubyroad10: What are you doing for maids' flowers? Could your friend wire up 2 or 3 brooches each and work them into their bouquets? Since the guys' bouts will match your FI's, there can be a little bling for everyone! :-) Hehehe.
I love the brooches and the boutonnieres are amazing!! I'm not too sure about the earrings...maybe that's just because I can't visualize them though.
My favorite part is that your grandfathers ring will be included and the boutinnere is amazing! She did great with all of this! Congrats! Can't wait to see it all put together!

I just needed to share this because I'm so excited.
My mom's friend is super artsy. In fact, she went back to school to take classes in jewelry making. She owns a kiln and can solder metal. Homegirl is LEGIT. She also has only one child, a son, so when my mom told her I was getting married and that I was thinking about doing a brooch bouquet, she immediately took to the task. Tonight we went to her house to see what she was putting together. I told her that my colors are shades of teal with copper and chocolate brown, so she ran with that. I walked into this goldmine:
HOLY CRAP. Most are from Ebay. Some are her own pieces. She is also including brooches from my grandmother, FI's grandmother, and my grandpa's senior ring from high school:

Not to mention, she had something in mind for FI. He is an electrical engineer, and loves to tinker with stuff. So instead of just having a plain boutineer, she designed him this:

It's a gorgeous piece she made using antique watch movements and pieces. I LOVE IT. She's also putting some gears with big cogs behind it. I love it so much!

The guys are getting something similar, but smaller, using these watch movements:
Then she pulled out these geodes that we're making my earrings out of...what do y'all think of using these for "Statement" earrings? We would fix these together and the other side would look similar:
SO EXCITED!!! She is way too generous. I just wanted to share with someone!
