Hey Bees~ Opinions please? My father is a local dj. My fiancee is a music lover and so am I. I was raised around it.. We want to do cds as favors. Good idea or not? I think it represents us and I have been to so many weddings and heard people say afterwards, I loved the first dance song, or the father daughter dance song but I cant remember how it goes or the name of it…We are going to include the first dance songs, the father daughter song, the mother son and some of our favorites that describe us and or are meaningful to us….My dad knows someone who is willing to create the cds and make a personalized cover for us. Would you like this as a favor from a wedding? would you use it?

I think that’s a sweet idea

Personally, I would not. I do not have a CD player or a car, so I wouldn’t be able to use this at all. I might be in the minority though.

I received a favor like this at a wedding once. We popped it in the CD player in the car on the way home, got through two songs before we got home, and never listened to it again. It’s a sweet/unique idea, but people’s music taste will vary a lot. However, I’m personally kind of against all favors because it is REALLY hard to find one thing that everyone likes and so many of them get left behind!

I honestly don’t know anyone that uses CDs anymore these days. I got this as a favor a long time ago and never listened to it. Everyone’s tastes vary in music so much, as well. I wouldn’t do it. If you have the $$, giving iTunes gift cards instead (even if it’s $5) will probably be much more appreciated.

Technically it’s illegal unless you purchase the rights to every song and copy that you’ll be making (which I doubt you’ll do). I realize it’s a stretch and you’d never actually get caught but I just thought I’d throw that out there. As for how I feel about the favor, I would leave mine behind. While my car has a CD player, I can’t remember the last time I used it. Everything is digital now.

I don’t care for the idea and I would probably toss the CD.

I think it’s a nice idea. I’ve seen them done by other bees before. Whether or not I use the favor later would depend on the music you had on there. I don’t like country music for instance. If the CD was a compilation of country music songs I would probably give it to one of my friends who likes that music if they didn’t already have the tracks. If it had a great variety I would love it though. I’m a bit of a music fiend so if there were songs on it that were not in my itunes list already I would be excited.

Surprised that I’m in the minority! I’d much rather have some free songs than a wine stopper or some almonds or a coaster with your name on it.

I’m sorry, I don’t really like the idea either. While I may say “Oh, I liked that first dance song!” I don’t think I would like it enough to want to play in my car..

It’s a sweet idea, but hardly anyone will listen to them, even if they intend to. You are really wasting your money. There are tons of threads on here about it if you want to read through them.

I’d choose to leave it behind as I can download songs I liked from a wedding on itunes. I have a cd player in the truck, but I usually have a usb plugged in or listen to the radio. I think it would have been a great favour 10 years ago.

Personally, I’d probably never listen to it, but others might.
