Hi Spaniel, this is the only one I could find that didn't involve barbells or a pull-up bar.
Sit on a chair or bench and bend forward from the waist with a straight spine. Holding a dumbbell in each hand with your arms extended towards the floor and your palms facing in, slowly raise both weights to chest level and then lower them back down with resistance. This exercise works your lats as well as your triceps. Start with very light free weights, as this exercise can easily strain the back if heavy weights are used.
Oh that's a great exercise! It really makes you sore afterward! And I agree with starting with lighter weights because you want to be able to perform the move properly.
... if you add an s to lat you get slat... which means you can lie back, take it easy and chill... just throwing that variation out there.
@valhalla: Thanks much! I've been trying to find something that focuses on that little soft spot above the triceps, and it sounds like this will help. :)
@KMSull: LOVE IT! That's what I'll do tonight! ;)

Does anyone know a good lat exercise that uses free weights (instead of a machine)?
