Can anyone suggest any outstanding lingerie shops for BBWs or heavy chested brides to be?

I need a good long-line bra that will support me in my strapless gown.  I bought a bustier online, but 1) I didn't measure myself properly and 2) it had no cups.  I'm at least a 46DD, I think.

My seamstress has recommended Dor-ne Corsette Shop in Silver Spring, MD, but I wanted to know if anyone had any other recommendations so I wouldn't be stuck with just the one shop to choose from.

    Thanks in advance!

I've been able to find foundation garments at Trousseau in Vienna, VA. It's not the most 'budget' of options, but they do a good job measuring/fitting and if needed-the alterations are free. http://www.trousseaultd.com/

    Good luck!!!

Coup de Foudre in D.C., Sylene in Bethesda, The Full Cup in Old Town Alexandria, and Trousseau in Vienna are all good quality lingerie shops.  They may not have your size in stock but more importantly they should all be able to measure you to get your correct size.  Then you can order anything from anywhere and you won't have to guess.

I think most women would be surprised at what their actual size is.  They almost always put the band size too high and the cup size too small.

I was fitted at a smilar type of shop in Atlanta and I was wearing a band size 2 sizes too big and a cup size 2 sizes too small. So you may surprise yourself and not be a 46DD at all.  If you look at this article and go to page 4 you can see a fuller figured woman who was bra fitted. http://www.myintimacy.com/pdf/fc_may_2007.pdf  She thought she was a 38DD and really she was a 34FF.  I'm sure if any of us looked at her on the street we'd never think "oh band size 34"
