I just had to share because I am so excited, I got a call from my doc today that my recent pap came back NORMAL!!! Not a big thing for most girls but it is awesome for me.

I had abnormal paps in oct 07 and march 08 and it really really freaked me out. My doc told me I just needed to keep coming in every 6 months and watching it... but the idea that I had anything "precancerous" just put so much stress on me. I had normal paps in oct 08 and march 09, and my doc said if this one came back normal I could go back to only having them once a year!

So, I've now been given a clean bill of health and I can finally feel like a normal person who isn't being so closely watched all the time. Such a huge weight off my mind, yay! :)

Oh my gosh, that's awesome news! Anything health-related is always scary. Sometimes I go in for yearly bloodwork, and anxiously await bad results ... waiting sucks, and now you don't have to do it as much! Yay! Congratulations :)

That's AWESOME!!!!  I totally know how you feel.  I've had precancerous cells removed via cryosurgery (back in '01) and my last pap was abnormal, so I went through a colposcopy and (painful) biopsy - which came back normal!!  Happy dance for anyone who has to go through this and gets normal results!!  Cool

Good to hear that you are well.  Female problems are the worst since everyone is weird about talking about them and there are so many things that can be wrong!

Congrats @CorgiTales - I had the same problem a year or so back and when I finally got my first normal result, I was beside myself! That is such a scary thing! Glad to know you're back on the "normal" side of things :)

Congrats CorgiTales! I have had a slew of abnormal paps over the years, so I am really aware of the importance of getting tested regularly. No abnormal paps in a while though. My Mom had to have pre-cancerous cells lasered, so I am all too aware of what an abnormal pap might mean!

Its good to see so many women are having regular paps - its so important!

@corgitales -I actually had that happen to me and it's such a huge relief when they come back normal but for me, still, the waiting stinks.  I had to go every 3, then 6, now each year. I'm glad yours came back normal!!!!  Here's to the shmears!
