There seems to be some lovely and inexpensive parasols on eBay. I found some lace ones that looked especially nice, at least from the pictures.
If you live in NYC, Pearl River Mart is a good place. If not, you can buy them online: http://www.pearlriver.com/v2/FramesCat.asp?iGroup=297
Depending on how much you want to spend (and how good of quality)....you can get some really cheap ones from www.asianideas.com. I had my BMs carry red, nylon see-thru ones instead of flower bouquets for my beach destination wedding. The pictures came out fantastic.
You might want to try oriental trading company. I've been told they have a wide variety of parasols at affordable prices
Patty: Are you looking for an Asian-inspired parasol or more vintage? Bella umbrellas has a great selection of parasols for rental as well as their classic style for purchase.
you can also find more colors at china bridal
I was going to have the girls use it too along with their bouquets but Yach has a good point of just having the parasols which will definitely save money on flowers. I might just have to consider that. I'm getting a red parasol for my Tea Ceremony in the morning and then yellow parasols for the bridesmaids and green for me for professional photos. They will be wearing clover color dress and my color scheme is yellow and green. =)
I found this shop on Etsy:

Or do a search and you might come up with some other gems!!
Wow these are all great, I'm glad to see i'm not the only one using the parasols, I have a feeling my mom isn't going to love the idea. My girls are in JCrew's "bright berry" cotton cady dresses, and I have a champagne dress with a "bright berry" colored sash. I was thinking a bright fuschia parasol for me, and champagne/white ones for the girls to kind of provide a contrast.
THanks mc2009- I DO live in NYC so I will definitely have to go check out Pearl River Mart, never heard of it!
Anyone have any pics of their weddings where they used these? I think it might help convince the MOB.
Here's mine from Bermuda

If you want a great price for parasols or chinese paper lanterns, go to AsianIdeas.com
They have a huge selection, the prices are affordable (I think a parasol starts off at only $8/each) and they deliver in a matter of days.
Congratulations!
I wanted one with a monogram, so I ordered mine from Pamela's Parasols (www.pamelasparasols.com). The parasol was beautiful, but I thought it was overpriced. For my bridesmaids, I am going to order mine from Oriental Trading. The Knot Shop on the Know website also has reasonably priced parasols.

Hi Everyone,
My FI and I are having an outdoorsy wedding in July and thought it'd be super cute if I got a parasol for some of the pics. Anyone know any good "parasol vendors"?
