I needs some ideas ladies!
I needs some ideas ladies!
Although I can’t be much help, I’d love to see what you responses you get! We’re from Syracuse, but love the Rochester area. Have you decided on a venue or photographer?
Oooh! I’m from Buffalo, we’re doing them at Delaware Park (it’s where we got engaged) and probably another spot, but I’m leaving the decision for where to our photographers.
I would ask them if they have any suggestions- as photogapers they should have an eye for these things. Do they have a website where you can see some of their past work? Maybe you can use that to find spots that are appealing to you.
I grew up around the area, although it has been pushing nearly 10 years since I’ve been back…the only place that sticks out in my mind is the Erie Canal. It should be nice in the spring time, and you could get some good pictures feeding the baby ducks.
There are tons of parks in the Rochester area and we were just at Highland Park today. The magnolia trees are out and there are tons of daffodils and tulips that are in perfect bloom right now! Look into the parks if that is something you could envision for you guys! Good luck!
Places near Rochester ny: sunken gardens, highland park, mendon ponds, corbett’s glen, high falls, george eatman house, park avenue area, University Ave (art walk), charlotte beach, turning point park trail & rain garden, Fairport canal path, Genesee valley park (where the erie canal and genesee river meet has some nice walking bridges) strong museum, memorial art gallery, just to name a few ideas!! hope these help 🙂
We had ours done at sonnenberg gardens, which is in canandaigua. only a 25 minute drive from rochester and simply stunning!
forgot corn hill landing is also very nice! if you let me know what kind of atmosphere your looking for I can try and be more specific 🙂 lived in Rochester all my life and I know the area pretty well.
in buffalo, you could always try the buffalo botanical gardens? i know i’m doing some of my photos at delaware park, but i love the botanical gardens. i’ve seen some amazing engagement photos done there.
or, if you wanted to cross the border into canada, the canadian side of niagara falls has an AMAZING garden (http://www.niagara-falls.name/canada.htm) if that’s possible for you.
I think we may actually do it downtown in buffalo near my photographers studio for a more urban feel and maybe work our way over to tifft farms if we cant find enough foliage for the park photos.
