"saving your marriage before it starts" by parrot & parrot.
at first it seemed cheesy, but it was a good read, + you can order workbooks that are good supplements. it mentions a lot of things you don't think about when you're planning a wedding-but things essential for marriage and the post-wedding life-my husband and i highly recommend it.
"Preparing for Marriage" by Dennis Rainey
It is the one my husband and I went through before we got married - it is great!! Similar to the one above, and a great resource for having and guiding conversations with your fiance about your marriage. WONDERFUL!!
another great book is The Seven Principles of Marriage by John Gottman. I highly recommend it, it's wonderful!
"Sacred Marriage" by Gary Thomas. It's a Christian book, but it completely changed my view on marriage. It's the best book I have founds o far.
ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE AND OTHER LIES ABOUT MARRIAGE is not specifically PRE-marital, but it's a very good book that discusses a lot of the things you never think about when getting married.
I think any book should do if you whack him hard enough with it...hehehehe - kidding. Morining giddiness I guesss - makes me crak stupid jokes.
Wish I could be of some useful help but I am going out today to look for some, maybe I'll have a few then.
Have a good day.
I second Saving your marriage before it starts. Its by far the best of the books we've read. It has opened up so much discussion between my fiance and I. And I know quite a few people who still use it during their marriage.
I bought "Before you say I Do" it was really helpful and inspiring. My fiance are both of different faiths and although it is written by a methodist pastor, it wasn't devoted specifically to any one religion which was nice.
EmilyB-i second my first..hehe. we brought the book "saving your marriage before it starts" on the honeymoon to read during downtime, and we still refer to it once in awhile. we tried others, but refer back to this one because it is so comprehensive of things u should talk about and know about each other for a healthy marriage:)

Hi weddingbee community,
Can anyone recommend a non-denominational pre-martial counseling book?
Thanks very much!
