Goodie bag STDS?

We only have to send out 27 STDS so I've been thinking about doing something a little more fun than your standard postcard (not that those are anything less than awesome). I have this idea brewing in my head but I think it needs some polishing -- I need help!

My idea is to take fun printed paper bags, and put a postcard STD, a photo of us, some calendar stickers, some candy (cheap after Valentine's day!) and maybe a noisemaker inside. It'd be like a goodie bag but filled with things to help save our date.

    So I'm wondering...

    a) is this silly?

    b) for my fellow Canucks, would this be considered non-standard lettermail? do you think a bubble mailer or regular oversized envelope would work?

    c) I priced this all out to around $100 total -- is that too expensive for 27 STDS? is it worth it?

    Any input is much appreciated!

@moosey:  Awesome idea. $100 bucks I think is reasonable too if you can afford it. However, you still need to factor in postage.

I'd love to receive this in the mail!! What a fun idea.  I'm in Calgary, but I have no idea about postage, I hardly mail anything except standard letters! Sorry I can't help with that part.

@mwitter80:  The $100 includes postage (assuming it's non-standard lettermail). :) It's just a rough estimate and I know things have a tendency to climb upwards with DIY projects, though.

I'm thinking it's non-standard lettermail because it would have some things you're not supposed to put in regular mail, like food. It's not a weight issue or anything like that. I'm thinking if we committ to doing this I can put one together and take it to the post office and ask if it's standard or nonstandard, because standard would be WAY cheaper.
