You know it’s hot when the store you work in is as humid inside as it is outside. Here in northwest Ohio, we are looking at a high of 102 today. It’s been in the upper 90s for I don’t even know how long. I put the AC in our bedroom window because I couldn’t handle it anymore. FH works in a machine shop, where it gets to be over 120 in there, so he comes home dead and I have asthma that flares up in the humidity. So I’d rather pay a bigger electric bill then have both of us be miserable sleep, etc.
Makes me feel like maybe I don’t want to get married in the summer months. Haha. Our thought was for a late July wedding next year but I realize how much I hate heat. Haha. But we want an outdoor wedding and July works for the families, so it’s july. But I keep threatening my FH that I want to get married in October, November, December. I’m okay with the thought of 40 degress over 102 degrees. Haha.
How are all the bees, who are dealing with similar heat, dealing? AC? Pool? Got any good recipes for hot weather food? Cause I totally hate cooking in this weather. And hey any ladies who are or who have gotten married outside in this heat, how did you deal?

up here in the metro detroit area it is scorching!!!!! When I’m at work i keep the AC on 73 and we keep it on 74 at home. We also have a pool so the last week each night i’ve been in it for at least 2 hours a night…just laying in it lol

I feel that! It’s currently about 93F in Toronto, feeling like 104F with the humidex!

Its weird, I think the north in hotter then the south. Today its about 94 in GA? Last week it was 107. But i know my family who lives in chicago said it was 106 up there yesterday?

The high here tomorrow is supposed to be a (potentially record-breaking) 102, with a heat index of like 112. Our AC can barely keep up, I’m over 8 months pregnant, and I’m seriously dying. I’m just trying to stay inside and drink tons of ice water and take cool showers when I get too hot.

We’ve been hitting triple digits on the regular lately… which sucks as I’m marathon training and have to run outside. I mean, short runs I can do on a treadmill, but honestly- who is going to run 10 miles IN ONE SPOT?!?!? I just make sure I take it slow, and carry water & gatorade with me. On the upside though, I have a fabulous tan!

@leeshabee: Was just going to post that. It’s a scorcher out there! And people think us Canadians live in igloos lol

I took a lot of sh*t for having my wedding in the DR in late June… it was 80-85 degrees and breezy when we got married. It was 105 when I returned to DC, and literally no one had power.

Yes. It’s 102 today. At least most of my friends and fmaily have their power back now!

Soy here from the Philly region, where it is a comfortable 91 degrees at the moment. Tomorrow should be a nice, breezy 102.
Kidding. If I was having a July wedding, I think I seriously would have pulled it inside. I’d be too afraid of grandma fainting. Having rain on our wedding sucked, but I would be even more worried about heat because of all the elderly people that attended. Good god nothing spells disaster like the guest in the second row falling victim to heatstroke while you are saying your vows!

It’s 100 right now with a 105 heat index. Sadly that’s become par for the course lately. Just one of these days it’s going to get down to a reasonable 80 or so and I can enjoy our new hammock!
Our grass is also embarassingly long right now. I’m sure as hell not going out there to cut it though.

@mmr66: lucky! we live close to a beach but it’s a smaller beach and it’s always packed. Makes me just want to get a kiddie pool and put my feet in it.

@Mrs Sarah McK: Yeah, take it easy. I have a couple of friends that are pregnant right now and I don’t envy them. I’d bury myself in an igloo if I was pregnant right now. haha

Yep I’m with you there…. it’s freaking HOT!!!!!!

@soyjoy222: Yeah, that’s my big worry, how to keep the elderly cool and all that. I know we’ll have plenty of liquids on hand. I’m also thinking we’ll do it later in the evening, so it might be a little cooler.
PLus knowing my family luck, it will be the coldest July on record. My sister got married in July, and I needed a sweater, i was so cold. My other sister got married in June, and it was cold and rainy. I’d be okay if it was cold. Haha. We could get heaters, just hard to cool people off outside.
