I used Google Docs to maintain my wedding budget, "what to register for" list, and several editions of a guest list. We were apart for about half our engagement, so it was a big help to be able to share the documents easily and have them update on both ends whenever one of us added info.
Oh, cool, thanks for sharing. It's not as complicated as I thought.
I used the google presentation for my save-the-dates slideshow (lurve them lol!)
We've been using Google Spreadsheets for our guest list, and music list. I'm sure it will have other uses as well. It's really handy, actually!
It is very similiar to the spreadsheet I made in EXcel to keep up with my address lists and gifts. I've enjoyed having that spreadsheet of addresses. In fact family members have asked to have a copy of the addresses since most are close friends and family.
Does anyone know if you can use the google docs "spreadsheets" to keep track of guests & addresses and then use that to do a mail merge to print labels? I'm trying to decide how to go about entering in our guests and addresses so that I can print their info on labels for our save-the-dates, but am not sure of the best way to do this. Any advice would be appreciated! :)
Oh man, I have a wicked huge Google Doc spreadsheet that is our master guestlist. We invited our moms to view and edit it while we were compiling addresses and then just DH and I were able to edit it when it got time to whittle down the guest list.
I can send a copy of it to anyone if they want it. :)
@Kateworm- yes, I just googled how to do it and did it from Google, I think. Or, you can export the Google spreadsheet to Excel and do it there.
Yes, google docs is a god-send for wedding planning. We live across the country from our location and family, and having them able to see and edit things is awesome. Like JeniRae, we're using it mostly for our guest list - and the multiple shower/party guest-lists that come out of that. The most helpful thing EVER for long-distance planning!
I love google docs and I subscribe to wedding bee among other wedding blogs on my google reader.
