- Wedding: July 2015
I’m so happy! I’m a low-budget bride and have so little money to spare on the wedding dress that buying a preloved dress or one from China seemed like the only option for me. I was completely okay with this, though a bit wary because I was fully aware that buying a dress from the internet is a huge risk. However, I did not want to ask my parents or anyone else to contribute to the wedding since it is not anyone’s responsibility to do that. BUT if someone offers to contribute, I’ll gladly accept all the help. And last week me and my Mum went to look at dresses to find the right shape, colour etc. for me, and we found a dress that was basically perfect. Not exactly the style I had been looking for (I was interested in fit and flare whereas the dress was more a-line) but it fit me perfectly and might not actually need that many alterations, if at all. It was also on discount (but even then it was well over my budget). I liked it very much but was still willing to buy a dress from the Internet since, you know, budget is budget.
But then my amazing Mum offered to buy it for me! I asked her if she was certain, and she said that she was. She also said that I am her only daughter who will ever get married so she’s more than happy to do this for me.
My Mum is so great 🙂 I promised I’d bake her a huge cake as a thank you. Below is a picture of me in the dress (excuse my derpy face, I never know what to look like in pictures) and a promotional picture as well. The dress is Eternity Bride D5016, for anyone who’s interested 🙂
