(My first time posting photos – I apologize if they are too big)
My original E-Ring… Belonged to my Great Grandmother. Sterling silver. The diamonds she took from her Masonic pins and had them put into a ring. Did NOT want to wear every-day.
So FI and I got this one!!! I’ve never owned a white sapphire, and wasn’t sure about the sterling silver (we got the rhodium plating too – covered for lifetime re-dipping and free stone replacement). I did A LOT of reading here on WBee! But I’m totally LOVING the sparkle and the color of the stone and the band! The guy at the store (Helzberg) told me to use windex to clean it??? That doesn’t sound right??? (I’m a size 5. This is 2.0tcw – 1ct center stone.)

@EternalRomance74: That sounds about right! I love it!

Wouldn’t Windex eat away at the stones and rhodium faster than say toothpaste?

Nope. I’ve worked with jewelery and toothpaste is actually one of the worst things you can use to clean a ring – it doesn’t appear so to look at, but it’s actually super grainy and will scratch the hell out of your gold very quickly. Windex, or a bit of other ammonia based cleaner mixed with warm water is the best.
Nice ring! Congrats!
