Looks good, I know what you mean by all the stuff they used. Couple of weeks ago, I got my eyes done and holy cow no way am going to be able to do it myself.

Just to (hopefully) make everyone feel better about their make-up skills, remember that the people at MAC are, first and foremost, sales people. They have guidelines to follow when doing makeovers – eg. they have to use at least 3 products on the lips alone – to up their chances of making bigger sales πŸ™‚ So don’t worry if you can’t figure out how to cram 6 eyeshadows onto your eyelids! They can do it because they’re trained to, and make dozens of people over in a day.

That said, @PurpleUnicorn you look fab!

this is why I use Bare Escentials…I use the products but I don’t feel like it’s caked on my face!!  I love my BE products.  I don’t understand the brow pencil and shadow?  I use a brow liner and gel to put the finish look on mine.  It gives me depth that I didn’t have before.

@dynamic_duo: If you’re going to be doing a lot of kissing on your wedding day (who am I kidding, aren’t we all?!), I’d actually suggest getting a lip pencil that’s similar in shade to your lipgloss to go under it. Fill in your lips (not just line the edges) with the pencil first before applying the gloss – that way you won’t have naked/blotchy lips even after your gloss has been kissed off and you don’t have time to reapply! It doesn’t have to be MAC; go ahead and take your lipgloss to the drugstore to find a matching pencil πŸ™‚

@Sassygrn: Maybe she already met her sales quota? lol. These guidelines have been mentioned by multiple people who work for MAC, so I’m fairly sure they’re standard procedure.

@yearns4god: The shadow is to help blend in the drawn-on lines from using the brow pencil. You could just as easily drag an eyebrow brush across the pencil (to get the pencil colour on it) and then apply like you would the shadow, though πŸ™‚

I love it! It’s very pretty! It actually looks pretty simple. You don’t need any special creams, just a good primer (like urban decay) and a good undereye concealer (benefit erase paste). Looks like she just used an eyeliner (dark blue, almost black?) and some peachy/taupe shadows (blended). Just trying to break it down the best I can so that you know it is do-able!

Anyways, love it!
