Here she is! 1 carat equivalent FB RB in a 14k yellow gold setting on a surprise-size 4.5 finger! The pics are taken on the ipad so it doesn’t go that close and they’re probably huge too, sorry!
It’s on my finger finally! No big proposal, we simply got it because the time and opportunity was right, and I’m in love with it and him! I’ve been posting a little about the process, first of all I was very unsure of the stone size. I knew I wanted a RB FB moissy, but was torn between 1 carat or 1.25. This was when I thought I had a size 5 ring finger that is! Turns out I’m 4.5! I only needed to look at the 1.25 stone before I knew it would be too big – I live I Europe, remember, so stone size is a different story over here. The 1 carat is plenty big for me! Very happy girl! I feel really good about this size.
Secondly, being the over thinker that I am, I was slightly nervous about the jeweler, rosados box, before my appointment with them. Now I can laugh about it as I realize how nervous, excited and just totally hyped up I was in general about this ring. I had a wonderful experience with them and my ring is absolutely stunning. I also had the chance to see and try several of their beautiful eternity bands. Ladies these rings are all so beautiful. Shirley is very knowledgeable, thorough, gives great service and is kind. Don’t hesitate to order from them, although I was able to go to their actual shop, love and promise jewelers. This specific ring was made from scratch and had the stone set within little more than 24 hours.
And the moissy: god it’s good! I don’t own diamonds this big but saw a LOT of them over the past few months and the visual difference is underwhelming to me. We had decided in advance that if there was the slightest thing I didn’t love about moissy then we would rather get a smaller diamond as we weren’t willing to spend more than 1000-1500 on a ring. I love this stone to death. I was so worried about the color of the stone, black hole effects and disco ball behavior but none has happened so far and as I’ve seen it in about every kind of bad lighting there is so far I don’t think it will happen. I honestly don’t even think it’s that moody either – the diamonds I’ve seen ‘out and about’ tend to behave somewhat similar most of the time in my eyes. I’m not saying there’s no difference, because obviously there is but as my wish was to have a colorless stone with great fire and brilliance, and not specifically a diamond, I’m in love with moissy! It faces up white (G-H color) about 80% of the time! at its worst it looks more I-J colored, which I don’t mind – the yellow gold probably contributes to this as well, but important part is it’s never green or yellow, buttery at most. It gives it a natural look IMO. These pics are taken inside a room with yellow walls and at night by the way. Ill put some day time snaps up too later 🙂 for anyone considering Moissy I really say go for it! It’s absolutely gorgeous, and cannot be captured in photos. Trust me, it can’t, you have to see it your self. Thanks to all the wonderful bees who have posted about their moissys here. Such a big help!
