I may not have voted for the Obamas but they sent me a Congratulations note in the mail and that is pretty awesome if you ask me. I wonder if the Queen does this in England??

We got ours about 10 months after sending the invite... it was TOTALLY WORTH THE WAIT!!!!!

Eeeee, congrats! We can't wait to do ours, I was so excited when I found out you can do this. You can get one from Mickey and Minnie Mouse too apparently! And yes, I hear you can get one from the Queen if you are British, and the Pope if you're Catholic.
LOL!! I didnt send one to the pope (I am catholic) and I didnt send it to mickey (I didnt even know that??!?!) But i sent mine out a week before the wedding and got it on friday, about a month after the wedding.
@ hltruax if you go to whitehouse.gov and look for the address, i believe there is an address for sending wedding invitations.
YAY for the queen sending out congratulation cards!! Getting married is fun

I just looked up our prime ministers website... - the prime minster doesnt have a place for wedding invites.. BUT he does have a twitter account and blog?? HAHA

That is so cool! I knew you could send one to the President, but didn't know about Mickey or even the Pope (whoops, I'm Catholic too). I'm definitely going to send to all of the above!

One does not need to be Catholic to receive a response from His Holiness.
Correspondence may be sent directly to His Holiness. The Pope is verbally addressed as "His Holiness" or "Your Holiness".
I agree that even if you didn't vote for President Obama, it's a pretty cool thing to have for your scrapbook! :)

That's pretty awesome. The Queen does indeed do it over here... maybe I'll send her one over.... I believe that 10 Downing Street sends them out as well.
ETA: Actually, after some research it appears the Queen might only does it for 60th, 65th and 70th wedding anniversaries and 100th and 101st birthdays. Oh well.... Although there is an address where you can write to her secretary. I might do it just to see what happens.
It says to please wait til after the wedding to send it to the President, so I can send one now??? I'd love to get something from him
@MrsSl82be Where did you see that? I've only found sites that recommend sending it 6 weeks in advance and (if you're moving after the wedding) to put both addresses as some RSVPs can take a while.

I sent mine like five days before the wedding and i got mine back about a month after the wedding. I say.. send him an anouncement i am sure they will send something back!!

I got mine too on Friday. It's so cool.
I also, got one from Mickey.. but i have to tell you that the certificate that Disney sends you is from Cinderella and Prince Charming. DH thinks that Mickey & Minnie is too good for our wedding. So I guess we'll have to settle for Cinderella. LOL ;)
The president one is so much better than Disney's though. Both are framable but the president one had a handwritten address which is nice.
