I am so CRUSHED! I got a phone call from my seamstress today telling me that there was a pipe that broke in her building and my dress happened to be one of the many that got damaged! I am so upset right now and in such a pannick I don’t even know what I am going to do. It is at the dry cleaners right now and she doesn’t know if the water/rust stains will come out of the dress. I don’t know what I am going to do or where I can get a dress so late in the game when my wedding is 4 weeks away.

Oh dear, what a scare! Like PP said, just breathe. Dry cleaners work miracles these days. I’m sure your dress will be just fine!

She carries insurance if she is a halfway decent business owner.
If you need to replace the dress, hire an attorney and sue her for the additional costs for rush fees or a similar yet more expensive dress/sample and she will submit the claim to her insurance. Check your receipt/contract first, or ask an attorney if you have a claim (they should sit down and answer that w/o charging). It isn’t mean, that is why she carries insurance.

(Hugggssss). I would start shopping for a backup. If you want another of the same dress, I am 99.999% sure there’s a Bee that is selling one in your size. I think I have her username saved somewhere.

Deep breath first and foremost. Okay, now I’d call the bridal shop you boguht it at to see if there is ANY way they can rush order a new dress for you. If there isn’t enough time, you need to start scoping out the sample rack. It will be okay hun.

@mrsctobee: I’m sorry… you have not had good luck with that seamstress :(! When will it be done at the cleaners? HOPEFULLY she has insurance! If she said yours was “one of many” oh my! What you CAN do is go to the bridal shop & ask if they have any dresses in your size for sale that they can sell you on the spot. Or maybe go out of town? Likely this is happening to MANY other brides so places may sell out/book up fast!
