I wish I had the time to work out! Between school and work and wedding planning, I'm afraid I'll never get to the gym. I do watch what I eat, although I tend to slip up on that from time to time as well. Why do all the yummy foods have to be soooo bad for you!? :)
I hate working out, but try to keep things fresh by going to classes and doing different things. I realized recently that I burnt out of the eliptical machine, I need a break from the hamster routine.
i am SOOO with you. Except I don't really have the eating under control either. But if i have to choose 1 to lose the weight, I will choose eating well over working out :(
I have you "beat" in terms of laziness. The gym is only less than a 5 min walk or a 1 min drive from me. And i still can't get msyelf there. I was trying to go tonight but instead I am reading these boards and "jogging" at my computer and doing weights while watching TV. I suck, lol!
I blame the cold! :(
Maybe the gym just isn't for you! Have you ever heard of those outdoor bootcamp classes? You could try one of those. Or exercising on any walking trails in your area? You don't have to be in a gym to get an amazing workout!
OK, I'm sort of forgetting that it's really cold outside. If you like swimming, could you find an indoor pool somewhere? Or maybe mix it up and do some DVDs at home-- yoga, pilates, step, strength training, etc...
Yup I'm totally with you! I've learned to actually enjoy the taste of veggies and whole grains and what-not! But I hate HATE exercise! Luckily I live in a city so I've taken to walking home at least partway from work every day...1-3 miles depending on whether I give up and hop on the subway :) But my doctor always tells me that doesn't count! :-P
I currently go swimming with FI once a week at the local indoor pool. We almost always go for walks when it is nice. I actually do really well with classes provided they are ones you sign up for and have a specific time, so you pencil it in. I think my failure with the gym is that I can go whenever - and then I don't!
I actually have a pilates DVD I do at home. Unfortunately, any really active home workouts I can't do because I live in a wood-frame condo, and the neighbors downstairs complain about my bouncing :( I loved doing Dance Dance Revolution (dorky, I know) on Diet mode - but now it collects dust becuase of my neighbors (which I understand becuase if the people above me were pounding on the floor for an hour a day, i would be made too!)

I am in a gym slump. And I have no excuse, the gym is 5 mins from my house. But the thought of going makes me want to run and hide and do ANYTHING else. I have eaten a very healthy diet for the past 5 years, but the thought of going to a gym KILLS me! Don't get me wrong, I love doing physical activity (hiking, swimming with FI, walks) but I can't stand going to a gym.
I just feel that exercise is important to good health just as much as eating is - I just wish I could bring myself to like the gym :(
Anyone else got the eating down pat, but have the worst time working out?
