Wow...just reread my message....I blame the grammatical errors on sheer excitement!
@gogogiraffes:Absolutely! We could chip in together and rent the place for the whole month and it would still be more affordable then most of the venues I've looked at.
Planning a wedding in a small town definitely has it's difficulties but I guess it also has it's perks. The guy doesn't advertise or rent the place out to anyone. He built it as a weekend "get-away" cabin for his family/friends. It just so happens that my FI uncle knows him and made the initial contact. Yay!
@JessicaAlecia: I want my wedding there!! UGh IT IS PERFECT!! Congrats!

Ok Bees, please humor me as I blatently brag for a minute...
I am so happy. All the worries I have encountered of planning a wedding on a shoestring budget ($5,000) and planning a wedding in the middle of nowhere (closest town pop. 634) have melted away for a few minutes.
We finally got in contact with the owner of the venue we have had our eye on for our laid-back, country, rustic, non-traditional, eclectic vision.
I was afraid it was way out of budget but we just found out... to rent the lodge for Friday, Saturday and Sunday...including the use of 8 bedrooms, in ground swimming pool, catering facility, and awesome decor, tables, chairs, etc... is...........$1,000! $1,000 a day? No...$1,000 for the whole entire weekend including housekeeping! Ah-mazing!! We are going out there this weekend to take pictures but until then, here is a few photos from a recent wedding:
