I set a goal for myself to have thank you cards written within in a month of the wedding. We got married on September 18 and finished them last night. I feel accomplished 🙂 Also, I barely had to “encourage” (read nag) my hubby to get his done. w00t!

Nice! Great job! DH was asking me the other night when I was going to do ours, but we haven’t gotten our pro photos yet and I wanted to have cards printed with our photo on it (or do postcards) rather than putting a photo IN the card, so no thank you’s yet. I’d like to get them done sooner rather than later though for sure! I’m so jealous of you! Oh and I’m pretty sure I’ll have to write all of DH’s. He’s going to turn into a sucky baby when I try to get him to write some, LOL!

@bakerella: I liked the idea of doing photocards … I’ve seen some pretty cool ones. Ultimately, we went another way. We also think that with Christmas coming up, we can include wedding pictures in the Christmas card.

JEALOUS!!! I need to really set a deadline for myself and just do them! Thursday will be 2 months for us and I have only done about half! It’s hard! They are just so tedious and annoying!

I just sent mine out last Thursday!
It feels so good to just get rid of them!

@PitBulLover: I know they can be tedious. We were fortunate that a lot of our guests gave monetary gifts so we could do the generic “thank you for the generous gift, we will use it to set up our lives together as husband and wife” … we had some difficulty with giving specific uses for gift items.
But know there are some guests who do enjoy receiving the thank you card. I’m one of them, I’m still a little bummed/irked that I never received a thank you card from a wedding I was at last year (I know the bride hasn’t gotten around to writing most of them). A deadline should help!
@FMM: It certaintly did feel good! Here’s hoping Canada Post doesn’t lose any.
