@sherryberry:  That’s a bit odd.  When DH and I entered a common-law relationship we had to pay one back, because we couldn’t both collect the GST rebate, it was one per couple.

@sherryberry:  As to the question about April, this might help:

We calculate your GST credit for the benefit period of July 2013 to June 2014 based on:

  • the number of children for whom you have registered for the Canada child tax benefit or the GST/HST credit; and
  • your family net income for 2012
