Be very careful! I bought a sample gown too and was informed not to take it to any dry cleaners because they often ruin the dress! The boutique I purchased the dress at offered to steam/press the dress as well as spot clean it for me. (I only had make-up on one of the straps.. the rest was okay.

Hey ladies, I’m in the same predicament. I have a sample gown and definitely need to get it cleaned ASAP! I know this post is from a few months ago- did you clean it? How much? And what do you think about the place you went to? PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!! I bought it at Kleinfeld’s and they want $300 for cleaning… That’s a bit much, then again I don’t want the dress to be ruined…

I used J.Scheer & Co for my Amsale sample gown. Even though the dress wasn’t dirty, I wanted to have it cleaned before wearing it ( and before the alterations). It turned out great. It took about half the time they estimated ( I think only around 2 wks, but this was in February). I was a bit worried, since I too was told not to have it dry cleaned, but nothing happened to it. I definitely plan to take it back there after the wedding. good luck !
