So my mom is coming next week to visit and is hoping to find her MOB dress while she’s here. I’m curious, did you consider your dress when picking the MOB dress. She’s going to DB where I got my dress, part of me wants to bring mine along so we can see what mine looks like with her dress. Thoughts?

As a MOB, I don’t think they need to go together. I don’t want to look like I m trying to match my daughter. As long as the formality is similar and the color doesn’t clash with anything, I think she should get what she feels good in. At least that’s what my daughter told me. She wants me to feel good. Dang, I’m gonna miss her. 😉

@pinkksnow: I definitely want my mom to look her best (especially seeing as I know my B***h stepmom who’s only 9 years my senior will make sure to look her best…)

@MsGinkgo: I’ve never heard of co-ordinating the wedding dress with the MOB dress.

@paula1248: co-ordinating may be the wrong word – I guess ‘looking good together’ makes more sense. I’ve seen some MOB’s who definitely look like they were making an effort to compliment the bride’s gown, and others who just wore a great dress.

My mom didn’t coordinate. She picked a dress and color that worked for her although she did pick one of my wedding colors just because gold looks so nice on her.

@MsGinkgo: With your support, I’m sure your mother will look wonderful. And your stepmother won’t look better than her. She’s the MOB! She’ll be glowing that day.

I think your mother should choose a dress in which she feels fabulous. I have never seen a MOB dress tht didn’t go with the bride’s dress.

I can’t image that with most dresses you would need to do this. My mother did have to coordinate with my dress since it was royal blue. But with a white or ivory, there would be no need.
