Those are gorgeous! If you can afford it, try ordering a few at a time online from Nordstrom’s or Macy’s. You can try on as many as you want and then return them if they’re not “the one”. Also, what about Sue Wong? She has a similar vintage glamour vibe. If you’re not a member already, sign up for ideeli.com (free). Her dresses go on major sale all the time there, and they also take returns.

I would try Nordstrom’s, Saks or Bloomingdales. Also check out Tadashi Shoji – he has some dresses that would make gorgeous wedding gowns! Second the Sue Wong suggestion, too.

Neiman Marcus has some great gowns. Shopbop might work as well.

I may have every gown Adriana Papel made between 2008 and 2012. No lie. I ordered them in spades from Nordstrom.com and returned them at the store if I didn’t love them. With free shipping and in-store returns it was absolutely ideal! On rare occasions, I actually went to the store and tried on before buying.

DEFINITELY check out Tadashi Shoji ( http://www.tadashishoji.com).  The prices are really reasonable as well.

You seem to be leaning towards the neutral colours.  If so, I’m in love with these ones at the moment (and I wish they weren’t so appropriate to double up as bridal because I’d love to wear one to my brother’s wedding in December:

Also, check Saks, its a pricey place sure, but for evening gowns you will end up paying less than you would for a wedding dress.

I’ve seen them at Macy’s and Lord & Taylor, also. I’m pretty sure I saw the second dress when I was shopping for MOB dresses with my mom. It’s gorgeous!

This is the same style you are looking at but it’s an actual bridal gown:

Angelina Faccenda 1262 and it’s priced right under 2,000
