How about a small piece of art? Or maybe something with the GVSU logo?
I am not from there but in my short Google search I saw several apple orchards. I don't know how common those are but I thought I would give it a shot! Good luck :)
How about a small bag of Grand Rapids popcorn? :) A small (4 oz) bag is $1.50.

We do have a lot of orchards - you could see if any do apple cider mix, or dried apple chips. Also, if you want to go just a smidge north, you can add Michigan's real cash crop: Cherries!!!

Hey there! I just got married in November in Grand Rapids at the Amway.....I'm a fellow Laker, too! We bought carmel popcorn from th Grand Rapids Popcorn Company and put it in our welcome baskets. My husband and I live in Chicago--home of Garrett's---so we thought this would be a cute throwback for our hometown and wedding sight!

hi west michigan bees!
my fiance and i met at GVSU, live in the detroit area, and are having our wedding at MSU in east lansing. i am trying to pull together some welcome baskets on the cheap and wanted to incorporate something from each place. i am stumped on the grand rapids item!
for detroit i could do gingerale, faygo, lays potato chips
for east lansing i was going to do a sparty candy bar
and for grand rapids...no clue? ideas would be much appreciated. thanks!
