We’re over 40 as well.

Our entrance song is Like A Virgin (Madonna).  Should be good for some big laughs

My cousin was an “older” bride and came out to this song, hilariously.

we are both 44, FI’s first marriage, my second.  We are using Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves–as a nod to our love of 80s music, the fact that we first met in the 80s in college, and also it’s just such a fun, upbeat summery song 🙂

As I’m a super big Star Wars geek, we walked into a dance remix (by DJ Jedi) of the Imperial March from Star Wars-those who got it, loved it.

We are not having our party in a venue that lends itself to a grand entrance, but the recessional at the church will be the Halleluia Chorus.  Why, because when I told my 81 year old father that his 54 year old “little girl” was FINALLY getting married, his reaction, “Halleluia it’s about time”.  He is escorting me down the aisle, and God Love him, will be giving me a check for “cover the cost of the party”. I won’t even try to say no to that.  And I will dance with him to Daddy’s Little Girl, the Al Martino version, which if you are of a certain age, you know that song well!

If we did, by the way, I would have chosen the Grassroots, Sooner or Later!!
