For our grand exit from the reception, I gave all my guests bubbles that were put by their place setting at the dinner table. Then, the DJ announched that after the last dance, everyone should line up outside the ballroom doors and blow bubbles at us while we exited. We didn't feel the need to exit the hotel itself and have a grand exit outside or anything, since we weren't really exiting - we were heading to the after party in the hotel lobby along with the guests :)
we are having petals thrown at us as we leave the church--but they are less clingy and instrusive and we have our ceremony and reception at two different locations. I think it might seem weird to do confetti after dark outside, so maybe just try to do it after the ceremony or use sparklers or bubbles or something easier to deal with. Confetti is messy no matter where and when?
I would have it announced .... that would work

I would like to have my Grand Exit following the Reception on the front steps of the Country Club, but I am concerned that it will be too difficult following the last song to convince people to shuffle outside in the dark and throw confetti as us. Essentially, I do not want it to look too staged or forced. An easier option would be to have the grand exit down by the lake as we receed down the isle, but I really don't want tiny confetti stuck everywhere before our pictures and entire reception. Thoughts/opinions?
