@adub7: I have heard some good things about the seamstress from Memories Bridal in downtown kzoo. (BTW I got my dress at Becker's too!)
@meerkat:
Thanks! For some reason I am really nervous about the alterations. Especially since my dress looks like it will be difficult to hem with all the rouching and bubble hem.
@adub7: I had a Sottero & Midgley dress too (RSM1036) and I was scared to death because it has horistonal lines of beading. But what my seamstress told me was not to worry because the dresses are made to be able to be hemmed easily. On my dress there was actually a place in the horitonal lines to make the hem shorter.
Where did you go for alterations? Becker's told me this place is where they would send all of their dresses to if you get it pinned in the store. Just makes me a little nervous because I can't find any reviews on them.
@adub7: DO NOT use becker's seamstresses. They had a ton of complaints on their facebook page by brides (which would randomly get deleted BTW).
I took ours to a family friend in Jackson so no help there. Have you googled reviews in general for Kzoo wedding seamstresses?
Well, what they told me is that they stopped doing in-house alterations as of Jan. 1st of this year. But last summer, while they were in transition, they sent all alterations to this Ha Alterations. So, the complaints could have been about Becker's in-house? I don't know what to do and this is only making me more nervous LOL.
@adub7: I Just bought my dress at Becker's also and they also reccomended HA alterations. The woman who helped me at Becker's said that she was getting married in September and this was where she was going to take her dress because they were really good. If Becker's employees are willing to use them I would hope that they are good? I am a little hesitant, too, without having reviews. I don't know if you noticed, but on their website there is a 20% off coupon.
@adub7: If I were you...I would DEFINITELY take my dress to Ha Alterations. I was a bridesmaid and we also got our dresses at Becker's Bridal. They highly recommended Ha Alterations, we listened to them and everything turned out BEAUTIFULLY. The brides dress had nothing but beads on it, it had to be taken in, shorten, bustled and the corset had to be made bigger. It looked AMAZING!!! They have excellent customer service. Their prices are more than decent. They don't have their 20% off coupon anymore but if you send all of your bridesmaids there, they will definitely give the bride 20% off. Even after the wedding, I still go there for my other needs. They know how to fix almost everything!!!

Hi Bees -
I'm just curious where you all have taken your dress for alterations? My bridal store (Becker's) recommended I take my dress (Sottero & Midgley - Adorae) to a place called Ha Alterations in Walker. Has anyone had any experience with this place or care to share where you are going for alterations?
Thanks!
