We're not having a traditional wedding cake, instead we're having a wedding pie. The pie isn't really as nice to look at all by itself, so I thought I'd put pictures of weddings from the past on our "cake" table! Here are the pictures I have collected so far:
My Grandpa and Grandma (on my mother's side):
My FI's grandparents (On his Dad's side):
My parents:
Still working on getting scans of my FI's parents and his grandparents on his mom's side!
Share your family wedding photos!
@deathbydesign: you and your grandma look like you have the same smile! (judging by your icon)
Awesome pictures!!
@misskarianne: haha lots of people have told me I look like my Grandma. Unfortunately she passed shortly before I was born, so I never met her. :(
I'm sorry to hear that. You are definitely carrying on her beautiful smile!
I love looking at old wedding pictures! I don't have any really "older" ones, but here's one with me and my Mom on my parents wedding day! This is one of my favorite pictures of us!

@CherryWaves: Awwww that is adorable!!! Both of you look so happy!
Here we go- my beloved grandparents November 1946. They were lucky enough to have 60 years before Gramma passed in 2007
I wish I had picture of one! I'll have to have someone scan the pictures and send them to me.
@GroovyHippieChick: What a beautiful picture!
a few photos from my parents wedding day.. I just happened to have them on my computer. Don't have any of my grandparents lying around unfortunately. but I might be able to find some later :)
mom:

fave photo of my parents on their wedding day.. wish I had it saved on my computer bigger. they have an 8by10 of this over their bed

I don't have any of my grandparents weddings but here's my mom and grandmother on my moms wedding day...

@Mrs.H2B: I love the last picture!
Awww... i love this thread! I'll add some in a bit... (my FI is passed out on my lap! and all my family pics are on an external hard drive!)
@deathbydesign: love you FI's grandmother dress and veil.
@CherryWaves: what a precious picture!

my grandparents (dads parents) this photo is handpainted!

I am LOVING all of these!!
My Mom & Dad on their wedding day:
My Maternal Grandparents:
My Paternal Grandparents:
(not uploading for some reason)
All of these bouquets with the dangly things and crosses! I wonder when those went out of fashion - seems like they lasted a few decades!
@auggiefrog: Look at Gramma with the illusion off-the shoulder! I bet that was considered daring back then! :)
Haha - I wonder what people of that generation really think of current bridal fashion... or for that matter, prom fashion - with those slits and cut outs that are so trendy these days?!
ah! i wish I had some to share, I know my mom has some good ones of her and my grandmother! i looooooooooove old wedding pics :) love.
My paternal grandparents, after the ceremony. I LOVE their smiles in this picture, and will be featuring it, along with other stuff from our grandparents' weddings, as part of our reception decor.
I really really wanted to do something like this
for my wedding but as of 6 years ago my relationship with my parents ended and my FMIL said it would be strange to have it one sided. *sigh* She is right.
I love love love the old photos!!! Keep em coming girls.
There have been a hundred of these threads and I finally feel comfortable sharing this picture with you bees. This is my grandma and grandpap after their June 1949 wedding. Notice the building they're coming out of? That's a chicken coop. They got married in a chicken coop.
My great-uncle, my grandma's brother, started the community's first Catholic parish. Before they had an actual church building to meet in, they held their weekly mass in the local chicken coop. My grandparents got married before the church was built...so...they used the chicken coop! I love it.
I love this photo because they look SO happy. My grandma seriously never smiles in pictures; this picture was the first time I had ever seen her have a completely genuine, uninhibited smile on her face. And you can see the rice flying!
Behind them is my grandma's sister and BIL - they were best man and maid of honor.

And P.S., I looooove everyone else's pictures!! Old wedding pictures are the best.
I on't have any pics to post yet, but both my parents and my mom'sparents got maried in the church I just booked for my wedding. I can't wait to get a few photos posed exactly they way they posed theirs in the same spot!

My grandparents on their wedding day. My grandma was so beautiful.
PS we are doing wedding pie instead of cake too!!
I got a pic of my FI's parents!

I wish I had great-grandparent pictures, but I don't think my parents have any of those and my only living great grandparent is divorced
Here is one of my mother with her parents (who have since passed away)...

My paternal grandparents, wish I had more of these
