I love the idea of taking pictures in it and maybe having the picture framed and at the wedding somewhere.. they can even take parts of the dress and add it to parts of yours! How cool you have this dress!
What does it look like? Could you have it shortened and wear it at the rehearsal dinner? I'm doing that with my mom's dress!
I love the idea of before pictures in it too. But I was thinking of the same thing as OttawaBride2011: shorten it for your rehersal dress! I was thinking of doing something with my moms like that too! :)
I think doing the photo shoot could be really fun and I'm definitely leaning towards that. As far as adding pieces from the dress to my dress...my FMIL is actually making me a garter out of the lace from g-ma's dress! Which I am so excited about. Unfortunately the colors are SO different that I think using the lace on the outside is just going to look weird and mismatched. OttawaBride2011, that is such a fun idea! I don't think it will work for me b/c of the style of the dress and just not wanting to cut it short in case my daughter or any of my cousin's daughters want to wear it someday, but so fun that you are doing it!
i dotn know where i saw this here... but one of the bees took her grandmother dress and her mother dress and rented sewing mannequin and display them next to a generation table... the table had picture of all the women in the family getting married... i love the idea of the incorporation of the wedding dresses

Hi girls,
I am lucky enough to be in possession of my Grandmother's gorgeous 1930's wedding dress. My now sister-in-law had it altered/updated for her wedding to my brother and it is truly gorgeous. However, I'm one of those girls who has dreamed for way too long about my own wedding dress, and decided that I do not want to wear it for my wedding or reception. However, I would love to somehow include the dress in my wedding. Ideas that I had were doing a pre-wedding photo shoot of me in the dress and having that picture displayed (along with pictures from our parent's weddings, etc) on a table, or having a picture of the dress taken to put on the thank you cards. It would mean a lot to my mom to have it included in some way.
I'd love any creative ideas you have for somehow including the dress (or images of the dress) in the wedding!
