hey - i'm engaged!  it's a cute story (not the most romantic but it suits us so well.....)

some of you may remember my "grandma's ring" thread a few weeks ago (i knew he was going to give me his grandma's ring - thought it would be on my birthday next week).  nope.  it was last night while we were watching "LA Ink".  lol.  we'd finished dinner and i asked him to open my nightly chocolate treat (a box of "smarties" - canadian/british chocolate).  he gave it back to me and said "sweetie, i need you to do me a favour tomorrow".  i was like "sure, what?" munching away on my smarties and watching kat while a doctor looked at her spider bite on her eye while i'm going "ew, that's SO gross!"  so he just set out this little red ring box on the table and says "i need you to go get this sized".  i think i either screamed or gasped really loud.  can't remember.  just remember my heart like pumping out of my chest - i couldn't believe it (was SO not expecting it - duh!).  so he put it on me (or i put it on?  no idea!) and i said "hey buddy!  you have to ASK me!"  he said "well we've known we're getting married for ages.... it's so obvious...."  i said "i know but you still have to ask me proper-like".  so he did and i said "yes please".  the end.  smiles and giggles and happiness.......

love the ring.  LOVE IT!  i think it's 1920's?  white gold.  centre stone is about a carat i believe.....  it's a little big so i DO have to get it sized.  lol.  it's SO my style it's not even funny (i love art deco)......   i couldn't be happier......  (please excuse icky nails - haven't had time to do them!) 

(PS: i have MANY tattoos and the boy has NONE.  doesn't like them.  while we were watching the show before he "proposed", i was bugging him about it and he said if we got married he might be talked into getting a wedding ring tattoo..... i got all happy because he talked about getting married out loud..... it was cute!)

thanks everybody..... it IS romantic in our own way i guess, isn't it?  i forget the best part though: i get really bad PMS - like REALLY bad (i've had to be on medication for it in the past) and yesterday i was really grumpy.  i was being kind of a bitch to him all day.  before dinner i gave him a big hug and apologized for being difficult to be around.  he always just kisses  me and says i'm not as bad as i think i am.  well after he proposed i said "leave it to you to give it to me on a MAJOR PMS day".  he said "i WANTED to give it to you today - i want you to know that that does not matter to me - i love you no matter what, even on what you think is your WORST day".  he was all serious and stuff.  it was amazing..... sigh..... that's the part where i almost cried (being PMS-ey you'd think i'd be bawling - lol)

he's just the most amazing guy i've ever known, he really is...... he loves me so much it boggles my mind!

That's an awesome ring!  What a great example of art deco style.  Also, the comment of loving you on your worst pms day... **swoon** so sweet!
