I am having a formal wedding with a large wedding party – Is it necessary to have grandparents in processional? Fiance has 1 grandma and I have both sets of grandparents. I’m not especially close to them and they are of a different culture/religion so unfamiliar with a Christian wedding ceremony – they would definitely not be offended if they were left out. However, his grandmother has been walked down the aisle at the weddings of his brothers so would probably expect it. Would it look strange if only she walked down the aisle but not my grandmothers?
Also, I’d consider having my grandmothers walk (with escorts) but really do not want to have my grandfathers walk (they are pretty out of it & very foreign). Since Fiance has no grandfathers, would it be okay to just have all the grandmothers walk? In the programs, would we then only list grandmothers in the processional or both???
