Ok, I know this is gross but this morning I noticed my daughter’s poop had some brown lumps in it. I am going to call the doctor to be sure this is OK but just curious if any of yout hink this is normal? She is breastfed and I have cut out dairy the past 3 weeks…altho last weekend I did have some cake and a few M&Ms and peanuts.

I think the doc willl say it’s normal. I remember getting really scared when mt daughter’s poop suddenly became green, including little green flecks like parsley. She is also exclusively breastfed, so I couldn’t figure it out. I read that babies’ poops, even thought they are mostly that mustardy-yellow, can change due to normal changes in their intestinal flora, etc.
I have also been told that the only thing to REALLY worry about with a baby’s poop is if it’s black, which would indicate blood.
Anyway, hope that helps ease your mind.

Looks normal to me. She may have ingested some blood, if she breasfeeds. Sometimes there is a little in breastmilk. It’s 100% fine.

Oh yes, and I just pump and give to her by bottle…..and I hadn’t had any blood in my milk. Maybe it’s just her normal digestive system, like you previously mentioned. I called the doc and the nurse will call me back just in case. I hope I’m not one of “those” moms haha!

For the bumps and redness on her face – i forget what its called but you can try putting a little of your breastmilk on it. It has stuff in it that naturally heals it.
