We're going to Australia for a Reef & Rainforest Honeymoon (yay!) however, I'm having trouble finalizing activites.  Are there any Aussies or other Bees that have visited the region and have some suggestions on tour companies?

I think we're doing this for the rainforest portion of the trip as the company had great reviews on trip Advisor: http://www.tropicaltours.com.au/day_tours.html#B  Thoughts?

For the GBR, I've narrowed it down to the below, and welcome reviews & recommendations.  We'll prolly only do 1 full day at the reef, and FYI we're staying in the Port Douglas area if that makes a difference.  FI wants to try diving, I'll stick to light snorkelling (and likely have another panic attack like last time anyway)

    http://www.oceanspirit.com.au/Dive_Snorkel_Australia_Michaelmas.htm ($189)

    http://www.oceanspirit.com.au/Dive_Snorkel_Australia_Upolu.htm ($99-$125 + $60 transfer per person)

    http://www.poseidon-cruises.com.au/ ($175)

    http://www.sailawayportdouglas.com/ ($185)

    http://www.wavelength.com.au/Snorkel_Reef_Australia_Tours.htm ($190)

Lastly, is a daytime Kuranda excursion (skyrail & train, one way each) worth it?  It was either that or the Kuranda At Night dinner/show event.  Unfortunately we have to pick one or the other (or neither if you think it's a waste of time!)

I welcome any and all info!!

MoFo - if anyone wants to move this into Honeymoon for me...thanks....

We stayed in Port Douglas when we were there too.  I can't remember what reef we went to but I think it was called the Ribbon Reef and the locals were the ones that recommended it to us.  It was beautiful!  And go to Kuranda!  That was so much fun.  You will have a great time!

Thank Miss AsB - I'm having such a hard time planning since I don't really know anyone that's visited before!  I'm super excited though!!

We didn't plan a lot until we got there honestly.  We had the flights and just went to a local office and asked which reef they thought we should go to and booked a few other excursions.  It was sort of fun flying by the seat of our pants.  It was the off season though so we didn't have to worry about things being booked up.
