I was looking at Karen Wang, she's definitely in your budget - she's pretty new. I didn't go with her just because I wanted a different style, but could be perfect for you!
@smactley: Wow...thanks for the quick response. At first glance I like her photos so I will keep her in mind for sure.

She's based in prosser but I know she does weddings in Seattle too! She REALLY worked with us on the price, so if you are interested I would suggest chatting with her about what she can do for your price range!
Our wedding was definitely more "romantic" but I feel like her portfolio reflects her ability to capture the "feel" of each and every wedding.
She is wonderful to work with and I love our pictures so far!
@eholden: Thanks. I checked out her Portfolio. I like her too. My problem is that each photographer I look at looks "good enough". I just want some nice photos and they all look nice. I don't see a lot of difference between them. I suspect I might if I keep looking though. I just started looking so I only have a couple to base it off of. I like both of these suggestions.
The Facebook link didn't work for me so I looked her up and found her main website here http://artimagesbykellylynn.com/#/wedding-home/
oopps...different Kelli Lynn ;D mine is spelled Kelli Lynn....she has a regular website if you google her, but her most recent portfolios are posted on facebook.
I had a hard time deciding until I actually started meeting with them...because I really didn't want to spend my whole day with some of them ;)
@eholden: That's so weird becaue Kelly with a Y seemed to fit the bill but good thing you pointed it out because I actually like her but when I went back to look I saw she was from Indianna...which obviously won't work :)
I like Kelli with and I too :)
You should also try Jovana. She is new too and has some really good deals for her intro package. Just google Photography By Jovana.
You can check out my work :)

Hi. I am new here so forgive me if this has been asked recently.
I am recently engaged and am not getting married until August 2012. We still have to reserve the venue but we have decided on the Mukilteo Lighthouse and will have an afterrnoon wedding with and early evening reception. I am starting the planning process - namely budgeting - now because I am trying to have a nice wedding on a 10k budget. I am looking aorund for photographers that are within my budget that take really nice photos but I feel overwhemed.
I am looking for a photographer that will do an hour to two of engagement photos this summer at an outdoor location or two. When it comes to the wedding day I would like the photographer to be there for an hour or so while all of us girls are getting ready and then to be there for an hour or so during the outdoor ceremony. It's not super important to me that they stick around for the reception. In other words, if it is significantly cheaper if they don't then I am ok with that. As far as the feel of the photographs I am looking for more of a candid and modern feel. I am not big on frilly and romantic. Length of experiece is not extremely important as long as they have a portfolio I can look at and I like their style. The biggest thing is that I am looking to spend about $1,500.
Does anyone have any suggestions in the Seattle area? Thanks
