@vermontia: I'm with you on this. I'm like "uhh I plan on spending $400 on decorations, all DIY" I can't fathom why you would spend so much on flowers but to each their own.
I loved this line: "Approach your vendors with three things: a sense of your budget, a sense of what it is that you like and an open mind." So true!!!

I check and reload the HuffPo Weddings section about five times a day and today I came across a great blog post on why weddings cost so much. The author does kind of boil it down and then provides great advice on how to keep weddings within budget.
