My fiance is dying to go to Greece for our honeymoon. It’s the one place he’s always wanted to go but never been. I am definitely interested and excited about the idea because Ive never been there either! I am a little concerned because I’ve heard the crowds are awful in the summer months and it is hot (not that this really matters to us. We are good with the heat and afternoon naps). I’ve also heard “it’s a dingy place” from someone??? Again, we aren’t too picky about this either. Has anyone been to greece in the summer? Any advice on how to make it an amazing honeymoon?? Thanks so much!!

Well, my husband and I leave for 2.5 weeks in Greece and Turkey on Wednesday. So give me a few weeks and I’ll let you know! Had we had the chance, we would have waited a couple months to try to avoid crowds. But we had to go now. Do you want to do the hineymoon right after the wedding? We waiting a couple months and it worked out grear for us!

My best friend spends very summer in Greece (her husbands parents have a summer home there) They are about an hour away from Athens. her pics are always gorgeous and she loves it. I’ve never heard from anyone that it’s dirty! My FSIL honeymooned there and loved it too. good luck with your decision!!

Mrs.B2015: depends on which part of Greece you go to. It will be hot regardless of which island you go to. Athens is a very busy city, so maybe that’s where the “dingy” description came from? I don’t think it’s dingy at all, there’s a lot of history there.
some suggestions for you when you go- visit islands like Santorini, Mykonos, Lefkada, Chios–all gorgeous breathtaking islands that you will not regret visiting. Google some pictures, you’ll be drooling in no time. Not to mention the food is so fresh and delicious! Have fun planning!
