Does anyone have any ideas as to where I can look for a Greek-inspired gown? The problem I am having is that all of the Greek gowns I am seeing look like they are destination wedding dresses. They are very pretty…but almost too casual. Any ideas? I live in southern New Husband, about 45 minutes north of Boston.

This is a Priscilla of Boston Vineyard collection dress that looks sort of “formal Grecian” to me.

I don’t live in Boston but I would search for a bridal salon that sells Pronovias dresses. Such gorgeous dresses. I almost considered a few of their beautiful chiffon or organza gowns.

You should check out (edit) Madeline’s Daughter Bridal shop in Portsmouth, New Husband. They carry Pronovias dresses – I got my dress there. They were super helpful and very professional/nice.

Oh really? I have heard Madeline’s Daughter is great…now this gives me a good reason to go there! How are their prices?

It’s a really nice shop – you should totally check it out!
As for prices, I think they have pretty much every price range. I really wanted a Pronovias dress, and told them what I was looking for and told them I didn’t want to spend more than $2,000, tops.
The lady who helped me (I think her name was Kerry) must have brought in 50 dresses! LOL – she was good about listening to what I wanted, and did not bring me any dresses that were over my budget.
I know specifically on several Pronovias dresses that their prices were exactly the same as another bridal shop I went to – so I think they are honest and reasonable with their pricing. Good luck and have fun!!!

Pronovias for sure. My friend got one similar to the last one in the picture but with more draping around the skirt and a few more jewels on teh bodice. She paid $1300 before tax and alterations.

Hi Southern New Husband sister! And possibly Greek sister, too?
I got my dress at 125 bridal in Plaistow. They were just purchased by Madeline’s Daughter, so same owners. They are AWESOME to work with and they have a ton of dresses.
I’m a “mature” bride so I did go with a “destination” type dress, but I plan on jazzing it up. I think you should probably try some of those on. The accessories can really make a difference.
Where are you getting married?
