For our honeymoon we were looking forward to going to Greece this summer.
However with the strikes etc, is it a good idea? We will be staying away from Athens, but the ferry strike for example would definitely effect the islands too…
What do you think? Have any of you changed your plans because of the situation? Should we just stay away from Greece altogether?

My fiance is Greek, and his family lives on an island, and C was his vote! Minor disruptions might be a reality, but don’t seem to have affected islands as much.
My personal and more practical-sideaside would be to work with a travel agent and check Canada’s (or US) travel advisory as the date gets closer.
Enjoy your honeymoon!

We are going to Greece for our HM, leaving August 29th. We talked to our travel agent and she said not to make a big deal of it, as most of the riots and such are planned and the vendors know to stay away from such areas. We had plans to stay in Athens for 2 days, instead of constantly worrying about it until we get there we just nixed Athens and we are spending an extra on the islands.
