Yes, you should still have programs, put them on recycled paper and collect any people don't want. : (3 votes)

I might forego the programs and just have the details written out on a larger chalkboard.  Or if you want to use paper, go recycled or seeded so you can plant them later 🙂

Personally, I’m generally anti-program. I know sometimes they’re nice to explain the ceremony, but I can’t say I’ve ever been to a wedding and thought “THANK GOD THEY HAVE A PROGRAM! i’D BE LOST WITHOUT IT!”

I’m probably skipping the program. they always get left behind, and with a wedding mistakingly scheduled 15 mins after ours, I really don’t want to be rushing around to pick them up after.

I think they’re nice if you want to do them, but not necessary. the MC introduces ppl at the reception

I’m not having them, I don’t think they’re necessary at all and it would be more eco-friendly to skip ’em 🙂

Agree with all the PPs!  Even if you are using recycled paper, something that a few people will look at (probably isn’t necessary anyway) and just throw away later isn’t really eco-friendly

I saw a few other brides write their programs on an old window that was color coordinated and propped up on an easle.

We’re not doing printed programs– Bridesmaid or Best Man is writing it out on a chalkboard that will be stationed to the front for everyone to see.  =)

I think some people might find it a bit odd if you emailed them the program ahead of time. You can you the programs on fans.. then they will be reused many times. Or You can also have the program projected on to a wall or canvas on an easel or something,

I’m using a huge frame that I got at a thift store — and painted it with chalkboard paint. It will sit in the grass where people walk in for the ceremony. I’ll try and take a picture tonight for you.

It depends on what you are doing in your ceremony. If it is long and involved and includes worship, then I would at least print the words to the song. But if it’s going to be short and sweet, nobody really needs to know what your MOH’s name is or what song you’re walking down to. They can either ask you or forget about it.
