I don't think it's too conservative. The pop of color with the shoes and bouquets will offset the grey nicely. I really like the color combination--I actually think combining the grey with chartreuse and purple is kind of edgy/unique. FWIW, one of my BM wore this same dress in black for my wedding and it looked great on her.
actually in the first picture you posted with the mens suits is exactly what we are doing. grey suits and yellow ties. which i think looks really nice. i'm just really worried about the shoes and dress. should i look at open toe shoes instead?
Although the style of the dress is flirty, in grey I can see your mom's point. I love the color combination. I think the key to making it work on BMs is how you style them. If you don't want them to look too conservative, don't put their hair in a french twist and pearls around their necks. I'd check Etsy for some fun jewelry; I'm sure you can find something chartreuse that fits the style you are going for. Then talk to your BMs about how to do their hair that will look great but not be too conservative.
Nope, I don't think it's conservative at all, in fact, I think it's pretty awesome. I should say that this is my color scheme as well, so I am biased :)
My girls are wearing a short Alfred Angelo dress of their choosing - most ended up going with style # 7002 - in charcoal color. They are paired with yellow peep toe pumps, and everyone can wear whatever jewelry they want (some expressed wanting to wear bold yellow jewelry, which I'm fine with).
My accent color is hot pink, so their flowers will be hot pink and yellow. I think the pops of color will really make it stand out, and gray photographs beautifully.
I agree with Sparkle - I think a fun pop of color with a necklace, earrings, etc could be really great. or, maybe a brooch or something on the waistline of the dress?
wow! these are all great ideas! thanks i will be looking into the hair and jewelry!
I really like the combo, actually. I think you can make any color combination work if you do it right, honestly.
I think it will look awesome! I love the idea of the flower brooch or some chartreuse jewelery too.

My wedding is in early October and I picked grey and charteuse for my colors accenting with deep purple(flowers). I found really cute grey dresses from JCrew and really nice charteuse pumps for the BM's. My mom thinks this will look too conservative. They will be holding deep purple and charteuse bouquets, which I think will pull it all together. But now I'm thinking it's going to look like all my BM's look like they just came from a board meeting. I know that grey and yellow are really popular now, so any advice?
