My FI can’t really decide what he wants to wear and he keeps asking me and I really don’t know. I think the issue is that he wants to wear a tux but I don’t think he wants to make his groomsmen wear tuxes (we’re getting married outside in late August and lord knows what the temperature could be). I’m wearing a dress that’s fairly formal, so the whole seaside/beach casual thing won’t work I don’t think. Other than that, though, I don’t know what to tell him. I feel like it’s really his decision but I t hink he’s stuck on what to do. Thoughts?

Men’s Warehouse has buy one get one free suits. You could get really NICE suits and spruce them up with vests and the like
That being said I think a formal wedding looks best with tuxes. YOu could do charcoal gray if your FI wants black. It’s not like you have to get tails and stuff nowadays =]

There’s no rule that says the groom and groomsmen have to wear the same thing. If your groom wants to wear a tux and the groomsmen something else, go for it. My FH is planning to wear a navy suit and his groomsmen will wear navy blazers and khakis. The same color tie and navy jackets will provide some coordination.
You will stand out b/c no one else will be wearing a formal gown like yours. You groom should stand apart from the crowd, too.
How about tux on your groom and something less formal for the guys? I like the charcoal idea. Is that too dark for August?
Anyone found some good inspiration images for the groom’s attire?
