I know that my FI is a little concerned that life will be less adventureous after we get married, so I am getting him a gift certificate to go heli-skiing in Telluride! He has always wanted to go and it will be a wonderful surprise Plus, I will likely get a weekend in Telluride out of it! He he!
I am really at a loose end on this subject. We have a lot of expenses this summer - the wedding, of course, and my FI's son has to have some surgery a month before the wedding, and will be going off to college a month after. We are also spending what seems like a ton of money getting his house ready to sell. He denies ever hearing about the idea of the bride and groom getting each other gifts. So while I would like to get him something spectacular, I will probably have to think of something really sweet and meaningful that doesn't cost much.
I'm thinking of getting him locket cufflinks with little wedding day pictures of his parents, and both sets of grandparents (only one grandfather is still alive, and I know he misses his grandparents a lot), and then one of the two of us.
I've been thinking of getting him an iPod (I have one, he uses it and complains about my music selection), but I'm on the fence. It's a big gift given our budget, and I'm not sure he even knows he's supposed to get me anything. I guess it will come down to how the budget looks when we get closer to the wedding.
I gave my husband a Movado watch as a wedding gift. He gave me... well, nothing. *lol* He claims he had no idea that he was supposed to get me anything and supposedly no one mentioned it to him. No biggie.
Is anyone getting anything big/exciting for their groom on the big day?
