@HisBride2Bee: That is so sweet :) I am in the same position.. my FI has known my daughter since she was 1 and turning 2 (shes 3 now and will be 4 at the wedding).. that is a great idea and I am going to start looking for you right now.. :)
@Karissa - I love the Song He Didn't Have to Be ... but I don't like that it is a song about a little boy and not a little girl. I am having so much difficulty finding the perfect song because most songs are geared toward the "father daughter dance" not the Groom dancing with his daughter-to-be.
Father and Daughter by Paul Simon. My Dad and I are dancing to it at my wedding, but it's an adorable song and would be very appropriate for a Step-Dad who's been around for most of her life! Hope that helps!
Maybe you should ask your FI to find a song? This way it will say the words he would like to say to his new daughter
@Karissa ... that is a good thought, but when I mentioned it he said "Just let her pick one of her favorite Taylor Swift songs" ... my daughter is obsessed with Taylor Swift ... but none of her songs seem to fit the bill ...
Im in the same boat! My daughter will be 3 1/2 at our wedding but my fiance wants to dance with her. She does see her dad but its not regular and she already calles my FI daddy. I need a song for them too! We are going a unity candle just to two of us then pulling her up to do a sand ceremony where all 3 of us will pour sand and she can keep it. Then the 3 of us will walk back down the aisle together to Sugarlands "Stuck Like Glue" because thats her FAVORITE song.... but I also need a song for them to dance too!

I need some suggestions for songs for my fiance to dance to with my 4 year old daughter. She will be just turning 6 at the time of our wedding. My fiance has been the only father she has ever know and has been a part of her life since she just turned 3. He plans to adopt her once we marry in August 2012. He is also planning on saying vows to her at the ceremony and possibly giving her some sort of ring, locket ir charm bracelet. I need the perfect song for the two of them to dance to at the wedding. Something that really hits home base, since he hasn't been there since birth but he is the only father she has ever known. Suggestions?
