So here’s the deal. In planning this wedding, I have realized I’m a bit of a stresser. And a controller. Meaning, I constanly make lists (but lose them almost as constantly), planning out every little detail but I worry so much about it going right I stress out hard. I have a new knot in my sholders every month.
That being said, I realize it need to delegate some things. Especially with it being April already! I’m trying to make a list of things for FI to do. He’s not been super involved, and that’s his choice. He’s supportive and gives me his opinions, but I think I need him to do things, while I just say “Yeah, that sounds good!”
So far I have:
-Set the tux appointment and go
-Find groomsmen gifts
-Help put invites together
-Choose the recessional song
All that to say, what are some things your grooms have done to help for the wedding?
I don’t want to overwhelm him, but I really do need help!

@thisorderistall: I work during the day and he works at night so he has made all of the phone calls to vendors to set up appts and ask questions. That was a huge help. He went to every vendor appt with me and helped make decisions. He has been fantastic.

@thisorderistall: My list for him is almost the same, just replace “recessional song” with “wedding rings.”

He handles vendor emails, coordinating groomsmen stuff, and calls. He specifically is handling the lighting and centerpieces. He helps with DIY, usually the parts that I find horrible he gets them done in a snap!

We do 100% of everything together (except picking the mother-son dance song… he’s on his own for that). Therefore, it has never occurred to me to give my fiance a “task list.” Though I am lucky in that he is just as interested as I am and is happily plugged into the planning process.
I must say though, the most helpful thing he did for me was finding my dress. I did all of my dress shopping with him, and he would patiently and intently sift through the dress bags on the racks and bring me stuff to try. He always found better ones than the consultants did, and ultimately he pulled out the dress that I ended up picking. This fact alone makes my dress SO SPECIAL to me.
