    So what happens when you discuss what you both want for your wedding/reception and then he has IDEAS.  Although, his seem so bizzare!  I would like to have a simple wedding, he wants the same.  I would like a simple wedding cake, (we're on a tight budget!)  he is a magician and he wants to have a top hat with a rabbit coming out (even though he's never used a rabbit ever.)  hmm. anyone got any ideas for this one?

    You know, my perspective has always been that this is my GI's wedding too. A lot fo things he doesn't care about, but some things his does and I let him voice his opinions because this is his wedding too. FI wanted to wear a tux, I wanted him in a suit...he's gonna be in a tux because that's what he wants for himself and his groomsmen.

    Now with the bunny in a top hat idea, I think it's fun especially because he's a magician. Maybe you can explain that you are worried about the rabbit idea because he has never done that before, but still encourage him to bring some of his magician interests into the wedding?

    This is just my opinion, but he doesn't sound like groomzilla. I think a magician at a wedding would be fun and bring in something personal.

    What if you do a grooms cake and that be the top hat with the rabbit, and then get a more traditional one for the wedding cake? Best of both?

    Groom's cake or maybe something like the zombie wedding cake. I looks normal, but it has the bride and groom fighting zombies. So maybe you could have a simple wedding cake with bunnies on it whch jumped out of his over turned top hat. The top hat is dropped because his groom topper would be kissing or looking at your bride cake topper. With etsy, anything is possible. You have time, so maybe you can even learn how to make sugar bunnies and manipulate a cake topper to work for you.

    It's a website with people selling stuff.  But you can sign up for an account, then make an "Alchemy" request.  That's basically telling the vendors what YOU want, then they bid for the job.  Sometimes they even send you sketches so you can choose which is better.  I think that's the best route if you want to do what TheFutureMcBride said!

    I love that he has his top hat and wand in your little pic!

    I agree with everyone- Grooms cake or cute cake topper. #1 rule to wedding planning with a groomzilla: compromise.

    P.S. Is he slicing you in half during your ceremony?

    @eimaj111683:

    What if you had a "Top Hat" for your cake plate, and then 2 sugar or white chocolate bunnies for the bride and groom cake topper??  :)

    I would get a grooms cake with the magic hat, and what not. Then the regular, simple wedding cake. Problem solved! Grooms cakes are usually unique like that!
