I have a situation which I was hoping you could all help me out with. I am having a bachelorette party for my friends and then a bridal shower for all my female relatives and elder guests, which is all fine.
My FI is having quite a sporty stag do and therefore like me is not inviting either his Dad or mine and I was wondering if you could help us out. He really would like to do something with them like a bridal shower but for they guys and wonder if you have any suggestions?
To make it a bit more complicated my Dad can barely walk (so nothing physical), has a restricted diet (but could go to a restaurant at a push, would prefer other suggestions as well please) and is fluid restricted (no way round this one, so no alcohol or water or anything).
If you have any ideas to help out i would love to hear them as we are really struggling to come up with any ideas.

I think it’s awesome he wants to do something special with the dads! What about an evening out at a comedy club or a movie marathon at someone’s home, and each guy gets to pick a movie? I think I’d limit it to just the dads and people they know well, like brothers/uncles/etc.

Here are several things that might work out….
Attending a sporting event, maybe something indoors like football (if there is a dome stadium nearby) or Hockey, or sitting and watching outdoors if the weather is nice.
Staying over at a hotel with a big screen TV (and maybe a hot tub) to hang out and have a game-day celebration. They could all wear team jerseys, order from room service, get a hot shave from a fancy barber, etc.
Poker, trivia, or game night. Poker nights or going to a local casino are really big out here, and they don’t require much activity, nor do card games like garbage, spades, etc. There are also a bunch of great new board games that are time bounded (so they don’t last forever) and creative. If your guys like really raunchy humor, buy “Cards Against Humanity” if you can find a set, or check out Pandemic, ticket to ride, Level 7 escape, or anything on the http://www.boardgamegeek.com hot list.
Make something together. I know there are lots of women focused activities like painting or doing ceramics, but certainly there could be something men could build together. A model car, wedding decor (like carving wood signs or building a canopy) where your dad could be the forman while the others do the heavy lifting.
Hope this helps, your guy sounds great, good luck to you all!

Thanks for your ideas guys 🙂 keep them coming. I’m putting them all to him and he is slowly building a plan around them all. Can’t wait to see what he actually decides on.
And thanks guys. He is pretty awesome for this and I’m so happy that he’s all mine:)

I have arranged a bachelor day the day of our Jack and Jill party. The bachelor and groom’s men will go to a racing car stadium. They will have food and drinks and they will be able to form teams and drive mini racing cars the winners receive trophies. I dont know where you live but you can check into that because all men love speed and the cars only go 45 miles an hour and it is safe they will be given helmets and jumpsuit to wear. My FI loves the idea he had never heard of it and he is looking forward to it. I also hired transportation there and back so there will be no drinking and driving on the legal streets.
