Are any of you soontobees having a groom's cake @ your wedding?

We are!  Our wedding cake is white with a buttercream frosting (I don't like chocolate).  My FH got to pick his groom's cake so he's having red velvet with the logo from our college alma mater.

Very similar to BridetoBee2010, but with cake flavors reversed... chocolate wedding cake with ivory buttercream frosting; white groom's cake of the crest of our alma mater.

I don't know if this counts...I am surprising my FI with a groom's cake at the ARD.  I can't wait!  We are having flambé stations and a small wedding cake so no room for the groom's cake at the reception.

We were going to but it just wasn't in the budget. I had such a great idea but other things have a higher priority.

We're doing a Krispy Kreme Cake. FMIL is so excited about it and plans to make it herself. We'll just have to pay a small "display" fee at the venue. :)

We will be having one but I don't know of what yet. FMIL is having her friend make it. The only thing i can be sure of is that it will be red velvet cake as that is his favorite. I just hope it is not in the shape of an armadillo! (Steel Magnolias)

I sometimes forget that this is more of a Southern tradition. I've never been to a wedding anywhere other than here and Mexico so I always just thought that is was the way things are. LOL

Of course we are!! It's going to be in the shape of a guitar and be identical to one of his, but with our names on it. I think groom cakes are a great tradition!

We didnt have any fun cravings (donuts etc) so the grooms cake was going to be just a cake, and we weren't having enough people to make it worth while. We were going to have lots of extra cake just for some fun photos.... notsomuch.
