I’m debating about doing a Groom’s Cake. I love the idea and think that my Fiance would be totally surprised by it (he’s not too knowledgable about traditional wedding surprises). I wouldn’t want to spend too much on it but if I can come up with something that fits his personality I’d totally do it…
Have you seen any memorable Groom’s Cakes??

I really wanted to do a grooms cake as well, but after we did a price check, we realized it was a bit out of budget. I really like the idea of a surprise though, so maybe we’ll reconsider! I think it’s a really fun southern tradition 🙂
Attached are two photos I found with ideas that might be a fun alternative to just a cake. I love the idea of a cupcake tower, so why not incorporate your grooms cake that way? You could also have a few groom specific sweets if you are having a sweets bar?

I soooooo wanted to do a groom’s cake but he was adamant about me not getting one for him. I don’t know why. I wonder if he has something up his sleeve?

We always have a theme around our groom’s cakes. It is usually something that represents his personality like the poker cake above and around here it is most often sports centered (like football, baseball, golf) depending on the groom’s favorite sport or team or hunting haha I can’t tell you how many camouflage and deer and fish cakes I’ve seen! Yeah we are COUNTRY haha Does your Fiance have any specific hobbies? We always do an entire table around the theme. My Fiance is doing a shamrock/Irish theme because he wanted to include his heritage and he has a lot of stuff we can use to decorate the table. And it is always a chocolate or red velvet cake usually. You could also go with the old bleedin’ armadillo. haha JUST KIDDING!!! Love those cupcakes above, those are very cute and that is a good idea too. I have also seen people doing a really nice chocolate cake without a theme, but I guess as an alternative to white cake. So I can hunt down some photos. Anything more specific you think you might want?

I will be doing a grooms cake, but not for the wedding day, it will be given to him at the day after brunch. He’s a golf fanatic, so of course, the cake will be golf themed 🙂

I want to do a groom’s cake,if I can afford one. I plan on having it at the rehearsal dinner, as a surprise. It’s going to be a chocolate kind of filling. He likes basketball and that’s one of our favorite activities together. So my ideas are to have a round basketball cake, OR do a jersey of his favoriteplayer/team, with two small basketballs at the bottom of the jersey/cake: one will be pink and the other will be the regular brown of a basketball. This is because we like to play together and he gave me a pink basketball. I think it will be super cute and sentimental.

I want to surprise my groom with a grooms cake. He is a computer guy by profession and also likes vidoe games so maybe I will incorporate that.

I would love to surprise Fiance with a grooms cake. I know if I’m able to do it, it will have to be a sports themed cake. He loves the Yankees so I would love to be able to get him a cake like this (except change the team!)

We having a cake made in the shape of the TARDIS for FH’s grooms cake. Because of who we are going with it is going to end of costing more than “my” cake which makes my parent’s slightly unhappy but I’m more excited for his anyway (even if I’m not going to eat it because it has coconut which I can’t stand)
The first time we spent time together one-on-one we watched Doctor Who- we’re even being the 11th Doctor and the TARDIS for Halloween. So we really didn’t have to think about what he wanted for a groom’s cake.
Like this, but minus the birthday sign:
